The 2025 model year Geely Galaxy E8 has entered the Chinese market with a starting price of 153,800 yuan (21,100 USD). The entry-level trim of this electric sedan became 22,000 yuan (3,000 USD) cheaper while offering 25 km more range and 67 more horsepower. The top-trim Galaxy E8 offers the Zeekr-developed Haohan intelligent driving system with a LiDAR sensor on the roof.

The Geely Galaxy E8 electric sedan started sales in China in early January 2024 with a price range of 175,800 – 228,800 yuan (24,100 – 31,400 USD). From January 2024 to January 2025, the Geely Galaxy brand sold 32,494 units of the E8. This year, the Chinese automaker aimed to boost this model’s sales. As a result, the Geely Galaxy made the E8 better and cheaper.

The 2025 Geely Galaxy E8’s exterior styling aligns with its predecessor. However, the top trim variant of this sedan can be distinguished by the LiDAR sensor on the roof. This sensor is a part of the Haohan intelligent driving system. This system was first adopted by Zeekr vehicles in China. The Haohan system’s functions include the Navigation On Autopilot (NOA) on highways.

Other features of the Geely Galaxy E8 are hidden door handles, a slanted roofline, and red brake calipers. Dimensions of this EV are 5010/1920/1465 mm with a wheelbase of 2925 mm. The Galaxy E8’s ground clearance is 136 mm. Thanks to the sleek outline its drag coefficient is 0.199 Cd. For comparison, the equally-sized Mercedes-Benz EQE has a drag of 0.220 Cd.

Inside, the Geely Galaxy E8 has an enormous 45-inch 8K screen with a display area of 1130*138 mm. This monitor is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip. The car’s cockpit adopts Meizu Flyme OS. Other features of the car include a head-up display, 23 speakers, heated front and rear seats, and comfy front seats.

Powertrain and prices

The rear-wheel drive Geely Galaxy E8 adopts the 400V system. It has a single electric motor for 250 kW (335 hp) in the rear axle. It is a 67-hp increase, compared to the 2024 model year car. As a result, the RWD Galaxy E8 speeds up to 100 km/h in 5.49 seconds. Geely didn’t specify information about the E8’s battery variants during the launch ceremony. However, the range of the RWD variant of this car is 575 – 700 km (CLTC). It is a 25 km increase, compared to the previous model.

The 4WD version of this electric sedan boasts an 800V high-voltage system and a dual-motor 4WD for 475 kW (637 hp). These e-motors provide a zero-to-hundred acceleration time of 3.49 seconds. Thanks to the MIIT announcement, we know that the 4WD version of the Galaxy E8 has a 75 kWh LFP pack on board, suitable for 620 km of CLTC range. It supports 5.5C charging, good for 8-minute 30 to 80% charging. According to Geely, the Galaxy E8 charges 1 km each second.

The price range of the 2025 model year Geely Galaxy E8 lies in a 153,800 – 202,800 yuan range (21,100 – 27,840 USD). So, the updated model became 3,000 – 3,560 USD cheaper while offering more range and power. It is worth noting that the E8 is available for purchase with a limited-time discount for 149,800 – 198,800 yuan (20,570 – 27,290 USD). These changes may turn the Galaxy E8 into a strong competitor in the fierce Chinese market.
