BYD Denza N9 flagship PHEV with 1,300 km range starts pre-sale at 62,000 USD

On February 21, BYD opened its Denza N9 for pre-sale, with a price range of 450,000 – 550,000 yuan (62,000 – 76,000 USD). The plug-in hybrid variant will be launched first in March, followed by the pure electric variant.

Positioned as a large SUV, the Denza N9 has a length, width, and height of 5258/2030/1830 mm, respectively; and a wheelbase of 3125 mm. Equipped with BYD’s DiSus-A intelligent air body control system and e³ platform, the Denza N9 can realize three-motor independent drive, independent rear-wheel dual-motor steering, tank turn, and crab walk.

In addition, BYD’s “God’s Eye” intelligent driving assistance system (DiPilot 300) is onboard the vehicle.

Four exterior paints are offered.

The currently known powertrain specs are listed below:

• Plug-in hybrid variant: a 152 kW (204 hp) 2.0T engine, three 200 kW/240 kW/240 kW electric motors with a combined power of 680 kW (912 hp), 46.992 kWh BYD Blade battery packs
• Electric variant: three electric motors with a combined power of 710 kW (952 hp)

The official 0 – 100 km/h acceleration time is within the 3-second range, the CLTC pure electric range is more than 200 km, and the comprehensive range is 1,300 km. Other powertrain specs still need to be revealed by BYD.

The cockpit features a three-screen display consisting of a 17.3-inch central control screen, a 13.2-inch full LCD instrument, and a 13.2-inch co-pilot entertainment screen, powered by a 4nm cockpit chip. There is also a 50-inch AR-HUD and a streaming screen for each of the side mirrors. A small number of physical buttons are retained on the center console along with two wireless charging pads for mobile phones. The traditional armrest box space has become a car refrigerator.

The interior adopts a 2+2+2 seat layout and has a 520-inch trunk that can accommodate golf bags, five 20-inch suitcases, and five backpacks horizontally, according to the official.

The two independent seats in the middle row are equipped with electric leg rests. Ventilation, heating, and massage are also supported. There is a large ceiling screen on the roof, small tables on both sides, a floor screen that can control the seats and air conditioning, and a dedicated refrigerator for the rear row.
