Xpeng Motors has revealed more details about its updated G6 SUV, scheduled to launch on February 28. The 2025 Xpeng G6 will include 81 upgrades, with notable exterior, interior, and technology changes.

The updated model features a new full-width LED light strip called “Galaxy Light Wing,” replacing the previous two-segment design. This continuous light bar spans the front of the vehicle while the Xpeng logo has been repositioned to the hood. The side profile now includes black-finished petal-style alloy wheels, and a minor ducktail spoiler has been added to the rear. These adjustments increase the vehicle’s length to 4,758 mm while other dimensions remain the same: a width of 1,920 mm, a height of 1,650 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,890 mm.

Inside, the G6 has a larger infotainment screen than the current model, with both the instrument cluster and central display using a floating design. The interior layout resembles Xpeng’s P7+ liftback (see specs), featuring a central charging pad and additional storage space. The doors now use electronic buttons for operation.

The updated G6 retains its single-motor configuration, powered by a TZ230XY01F30B electric motor produced by Xpeng’s Wuhan facility. The motor delivers a maximum power output of 218 kW, matching the current model’s performance. No details about a dual-motor variant have been provided.

He Xiaopeng, Chairman and CEO of Xpeng, stated that the facelift represents a significant overhaul. The company has replaced 34% of the tier 1 assembly parts and upgraded 81 features. The G6 has been a key model for Xpeng since its launch in June 2023, with a starting price of 199,900 yuan (27,560 USD). Its inclusion in China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology catalogue in December 2024 cleared the way for its official launch.

The updated G6’s regulatory filings do not mention LiDAR, currently available in the higher-end Max variant of the G6 and G9. This suggests Xpeng may be moving away from LiDAR in some models, following the trend seen in the P7+. Spy shots of the facelifted G6 show blue lights that activate when the intelligent driving function is enabled, indicating advanced driver-assistance features.
