Changan Nevo C798 plug-in hybrid SUV revealed interior in China

The Changan Nevo C798 crossover revealed its interior in China as it prepares for the market launch. It is a 4.8-meter SUV with five seats inside. It adopts a 72-kW (96 hp) 1.5-liter engine paired with an e-motor for 165 kW (221 hp).

Changan Nevo is a mainstream NEV brand launched by Changan in 2023. Its domestic name is Changan Qiyuan. However, this brand’s international name is Changan Nevo. Its current model line comprises four models, including the transformer SUV Nevo E07. The Changan Nevo C798 mid-size crossover will become the latest addition to the series in early 2025. Now, it has revealed the interior.

The Changan Nevo C798’s interior is similar to that of the Nevo E07 model. It has the same minimalistic interior finished in orange-black or white-black color schemes. However, the new SUV has its own distinguishing features, like a three-spoke steering wheel, an independent air vent in the center tunnel, and the shape of the center console.

Like most modern Chinese cars, the Changan Nevo C798 adopts a steering column-mounted gear shifter. This configuration creates enough free space for wireless charging pads, cup holders, and a spacious compartment in the center tunnel. The Nevo C798 has no conventional instrument panel. Instead, it offers an augmented reality head-up display. Other features of the interior include a large floating screen, buttons on the door cards, and a large 1.2-square-meter sunroof.

Despite the length of over 4.8 meters, the Changan Nevo C798 offers a five-seat layout. According to previous information, the driver’s seat is heated, ventilated, and massaged. And the front passenger seat also adds up a zero-gravity function. The car also features 16 speakers and suspension with a continuous damping control system.

The Changan Nevo C798 is the latest product designed by Bertrand Bach. He is the creator of such cars as Opel Astra GTC, Changan Uni-T, etc. The Nevo C798 adopts a closed front end with an LED running light strip and headlights integrated into the bumper. The car has a large air intake to keep the engine cool. Other fine features of the exterior styling are retractable door handles, blackened pillars, and a double-layered taillight unit.

The Changan Nevo C798 adopts a plug-in hybrid powertrain with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated ICE for 72 kW (96 hp) and an electric motor for 165 kW (221 hp). This system is powered by two LFP battery options from the CATL-Changan JV. The first one offers a capacity of 21.5 kWh, which is suitable for 95 km of electric range. There is also a bigger battery of 31.7 kWh and an electric range of 165 km. The car’s fuel consumption with a drained battery is around 5 liters per 100 km.

The Changan Nevo C798 will enter the market in early 2025. According to the car’s designer Bertrand Bach, it aims to become the brand’s bestseller. CarNewsChina expects this vehicle to be priced around 200,000 yuan (27,400 USD).
