GAC Trumpchi S7 PHEV with 1,000 km range exposed
In the latest Chinese MIIT catalog, GAC’s Trumpchi S7 plug-in hybrid SUV was declared. Previously, the car made its debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November and is expected to be launched in the first half of next year.

The Trumpchi S7 is built based on GAC Trumpchi’s EV+ platform and designed based on GAC’s latest “hidden edge in smoothness” language, just like a smart person who knows how to hide his/her edge and behaves in a rounded and mature manner, according to the brand. The 2,618 mm long through-type light strip that runs across the front face is officially called the Skyline, which is formed by 3,200 tons of two-color injection molding and comprised of AI headlights made up of 2,248 lamp beads. The headlights support eight interaction scenarios.
The side of the Trumpchi S7 is square and decorated with vertical strips on the fenders, wide wheel arches, hidden door handles, and a vehicle charging status light on the D-pillar. The length, width, and height of the car are 4900/1950/1780 mm, respectively; and the wheelbase is 2880 mm. Three vehicle curb weights were declared: 2165 kg, 2030 kg, and 2260 kg. The minimum ground clearance is 200 mm.

In the rear, the Trumpchi S7 adopts a “U”-shaped taillight design, which the official said is inspired by the Mohe Aurora in Heilongjiang province, China’s northernmost city. The brand logo is located in the middle.
Power comes from an engine code-named 4A15M3 with a power of 118 kW (158 hp), coupled with lithium iron phosphate battery packs supplied by Yinpai Battery and Zenergy. The top speed is 185 km/h. Previously, it was announced that the Trumpchi S7 is also equipped with the brand’s third-generation plug-in hybrid technology for the first time and offers a comprehensive range of more than 1,000 km.
Furthermore, GAC’s self-developed map-free L2++ advanced driving assistance system will be onboard the vehicle, which is realized via the lidar on the roof, rear camera, side camera, and fender camera.
