Great Wall Motor sold 29,218 vehicles in Brazil in 2024, up 154% from 2023
In 2024, Great Wall Motor (GWM) sold 29,218 vehicles in Brazil, up 154% year-on-year compared to the 11,479 vehicles sold in 2023. The growth was mainly contributed by the Haval H6 and Ora 03.

The Haval H6 PHEV and Haval H6 HEV won the “Best Hybrid Model Award of 2024” and “Lowest Hybrid Model Cost Award” in Brazil, respectively. In total, GWM Brazil won 23 awards in 2024, in which the Haval H6 won 12 awards, becoming the most awarded hybrid car in Brazil.
To put things in perspective, last year, GWM sold 453,100 vehicles overseas, a year-on-year increase of 43.4%, accounting for 46.7% of its total annual sales of 1.2333 million vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 0.21%. Specifically, sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) reached 322,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 22.82%.

Additionally, the number of registered vehicles (including cars, light commercial vehicles, trucks, and buses) in Brazil was 2.63 million units in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 14.1%, the highest since 2014, according to data from the Brazilian National Registry of Motor Vehicles (Renavam). Car rental companies still occupy a large market share, purchasing a total of 650,000 vehicles last year. Together, BYD and GWM registered about 100,000 vehicles.
Furthermore, the Head of GWM in Brazil indicated that the sales network in Brazil has been expanding, including 79 dealers and 21 shopping mall stores. In 2025, the company plans to start production and launch new models at its Iracemápolis plant, which will be GWM’s fourth largest production base, to meet the demand for NEVs in the Brazilian market.
As early as 2022, GWM began to layout the Brazilian NEV market and released its Brazilian core market strategy: investing more than 10 billion Brazilian Reais (about 1.6 billion USD) in the next 10 years to focus on electrification and intelligence.

In terms of product planning, GWM will launch more than 10 NEV models in the Brazilian market, spanning across the Haval, Tank, and Ora brands.
