Jetour Shanhai T5 spied testing as large off-road PHEV gets ready to launch
Spy shots of both the exterior and interior of the Jetour Shanhai T5 production car have recently appeared on the Internet. Jetrour is a brand from Chery that mainly produces SUVs and crossovers.

The concept version of the Jetour Shanhai T5 was shown earlier this year at the Beijing Auto Show. At the time, dimensions were given as 5403/2050/1936 mm, and the wheelbase was 3100 mm.
From the spy shots, it can be seen the car is a large SUV with a body-on-frame construction, most likely designed to go head-to-head with cars such as Fang Cheng Bao Bao 8. In line with this, the Shanhai T5 has sharp box-like lines, which give a hardcore style.

With large ground clearance, the T5 will have good approach and departure angles. Unlike previous Jetour models, the T5 has a non load-bearing body and a triple-locked system to improve off-road ability.
Although the exterior is still quite heavily camouflaged, it looks as if it should be largely in line with the concept that was shown at this year’s Beijing show. Visible is an external spare tire and tow hook.
New spy shots show the interior of the jet or Shanghai T5. Noticeable are the two spoke flat-bottomed steering wheels, along with what looks to be a very large central entertainment screen.

There are metal accented details on the inside, including exposed rivets to emphasize the hard core of the road style. A large dial on the center console is likely to be some form of selector for drive mode or off-road modes.
Powering the T5 is a 2.0TGDI longitudinal hybrid engine. A PHEV uses a two-speed hybrid transmission with dual electric motors. Combined power for the system is 560 kW and peak torque is 795 Nm. Although there is no news about battery capacity, the combined range is claimed to be in the region of 1400 KM.
The Jetour Shanhai T5 will likely launch during 2025.
