The 1,086-hp BYD Han L’s range exposed in China – 601 km on a single charge

The Chinese regulator exposed the range of the BYD Han L electric sedan with a dual-motor 4WD for 810 kW (1,086 hp). This beast can drive 601 km on a single charge under CLTC conditions. The RWD Han L EV with a 500 kW (670 hp) electric motor has a range of 701 km CLTC. The Han L supports dual-gun charging. So, it can charge from 16% to 100% in 24 minutes.

The BYD Han L 4WD made headlines in January as its specs were disclosed by the governmental regulator with an incredible peak power output of up to 810 kW. This vehicle adopts BYD’s newest electric motor with a maximum speed of 30,500 rpm and a peak power of 580 kW. It is the world’s second most powerful e-motor, after the Koenigsegg Gemera. As a result, the BYD Han L can speed up to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds. BYD plans to shake the domestic market with this car as its price tag will start at 300,000 yuan (41,350 USD) in China.

The BYD Han L has a single LFP battery option for 83.2 kWh made by FinDreams, a BYD subsidiary. This pack weighs 640 kg. According to previous information, the BYD Han L adopts the 945V high-voltage system. Moreover, the BYD Han L supports dual-gun DC charging. This means you can plug two charging connectors into the car simultaneously. This solution is good for 16% to 100% charging in 24 minus even at minus 30 degrees Celsius. The 16% to 80% charging takes 10 minutes.
