“The next step is opening the first showroom in late February in Helsinki,” says Kresten Harala Arup, Xpeng regional manager responsible for the Finish and Baltics markets. Inchcape adds that the first customer deliveries will begin immediately at the store’s opening in late February.
After Helsinki, the next Xpeng store will open in Espoo in the spring of 2025.
Xpeng started sales in Europe in 2021 by bringing its EVs to Norway. By January 2025, Xpeng export cars to 12 overseas markets, including Germany, France, Netherlands, Denmark, Spain, and Sweden.
In December, Xpeng delivered the 10,000th car in Europe, making it the first Chinese EV startup to achieve this milestone, the company announced. The 10,000th car was delivered in the Ebersberg district, Germany, and was a mid-size SUV G6.
Xpeng sold 190,068 EVs in 2024, up 34.2% from 141,601 units in 2023. In China, the Xpeng G6 starts at 169,900 yuan (23,430 USD) for the Long Range version. The G9 flagship starts at 228,900 yuan (31,600 USD) for the 570 Pro version.
Inchcape Motors Finland Oy is part of the British Inchcape plc group. It has operated in Finland since the 1990s and has become known for importing and reselling Mazda and Jaguar Land Rover. Inchcape employs approximately 70 people in Finland.
Xpeng has recently been very active outside its home market. In 2023, Volkswagen invested 700 million EUR in the Guangzhou-based EV startup. The company launched its car in several overseas markets, including Germany, and participated in the Paris Motor Show in October and CES 2025 in early January.
