The 50,000th Xpeng Mona M03 rolled off the production line in China as this model’s sales accelerate in China. Xpeng ramped up the production capacity of this liftback thrice, bringing it to fifty units per hour. It is one vehicle every 72 seconds.

Xpeng suffered from slow sales in recent years. However, things changed with the launch of the Mona M03 electric liftback launched with a starting price of 119,800 yuan (16,400 USD) on August 27. It rapidly became the driver of the brand’s domestic sales. The Xpeng Mona M03 cumulative deliveries are over 30,000 units. To keep up with the customers’ demand for this model, Xpeng expanded its production three times. On December 27, the 50,000th Mona M03 rolled off the production line.

It took Xpeng four months to produce the 50,000th Mona M03 electric liftback. This model set a new record for the fastest production line in Xpeng’s lineup. Chinese automaker improved its production capacity thrice in China. As a result, the current production cycle of the Xpeng Mona M03 reaches a car in 72 seconds. It is 50 cars per hour, 1,200 cars per day, and over 35,000 cars per month.

Xpeng Mona M03 is an electric liftback that was developed in four years with investments of four billion yuan (560 million USD).  This car boasts the world’s lowest drag coefficient of 0.194 Cd and a vision-based driving assistance system. The price range of the Mona M03 is 119,900 – 155,800 yuan (16,400 – 21,350 USD). Previously, Xpeng CEO He Xiaopeng said the company makes a profit from this car due to the effective reduction of production costs.

The Xpeng Mona M03 is a sleek liftback with a low beltline and Y-shaped headlights. Its dimensions are 4780/1896/1445 mm with a wheelbase of 2815 mm. Its interior design matches Tesla with a minimalistic look and a large 15.6-inch central monitor. The Mona M03 adopts a Snapdragon 8155 chip, suitable for 3D map rendering and 360-degree panoramic imaging.

The Xpeng Mona M03 offers two e-motor options: 140 kW (187 hp) and 160 kW (214 hp). It has two LF battery variants from BYD’s subsidiary FinDreams: 51.8 kWh and 62.2 kWh. Its range is 515 – 620 km (CLTC conditions).
