2025 Xpeng G9 all-electric SUV with 725 km range officially unveiled in China
This is the 2025 Xpeng G9. He Xiaopeng, chairman of Xpeng, indicated that the 2025 Xpeng G9 contains 66 upgrades, including the next-generation Turing AI intelligent driving system. The price detail has not been revealed at this time. For reference, the 2024 Xpeng G9 starts at 263,900 yuan (36,400 USD).
The 2025 Xiaopeng G9 continues the design of the current model on the market, adopting the X Robot Face 3.0 design language and measuring 4891/1937/1680 mm, with a 2998 mm wheelbase. The update includes the new electric suction door, automatic tailgate, and 20-inch five-spoke rims. Consumers will also be able to choose from a black warrior version that is painted in black with blackened rims, logo, and fenders.
The new generation of the Turing AI intelligent driving system developed by Xpeng will be onboard the vehicle, which does not require a LiDAR. Instead, there are 26 sensors throughout the vehicle: 11 cameras, three millimeter-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic radars. According to the official introduction, the visual perception distance has been increased by 125% compared with the previous generation, the recognition speed increased by 40%, and both dynamic and static obstacles can be accurately identified.
Both RWD and AWD variants will be offered with an upgraded powertrain, including a 5C AI battery system, 800V high-voltage SiC platform, and S5 liquid-cool supercharging technology. The maximum power of the RWD is increased to 258 kW (346 hp) from the current 230 kW and the peak torque is 465 Nm. The AWD adds a 165 kW (221 hp) front electric motor with a combined power of 423 kW (567 hp) and peak torque of 695 Nm.
The respective battery pack capacities are 79 kWh and 93.1 kWh, providing CLTC cruising ranges of 625 km, 680 km, and 725 km. For reference, the 2024 Xpeng G9 offers 570 km, 650 km, and 702 km CLTC ranges.
Additionally, the new car is equipped with a front double wishbone suspension and a rear five-link suspension. Nine driving modes will be supported.
The interior will be available in Morning Glory Brown, Elegant Gray, and a new Moon Shadow Coffee color. The three-screen design is retained: a 10.25-inch LCD instrument panel and dual 14.96-inch screens, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P cockpit chip. Configurations such as 5G network, multi-screen linkage, cross-device application projection, and OTA updates will be available.
