BYD Xia PHEV may launch on January 8, Chinese social media says
On December 27, the bydchang (or 迪厂 in Chinese) Wechat account revealed that the BYD Xia’s withholding price starts at 280,000 yuan (38,400 USD) and may launch on January 8, 2025, available in four trims:

- 100 km Lingxian: 280,000 yuan (38,400 USD)
- 100 km Chaoyue: 290,000 yuan (39,700 USD)
- 180 km Chaoyue: 310,000 yuan (42,500 USD)
- 180 km Chuoyue: 320,000 yuan (43,800 USD)
The withholding price is the amount that dealers pay when ordering the cars from the manufacturer. Then, any excess difference will be refunded after the official price is announced. It is worth pointing out that the BYD Xia already started pre-sale earlier in September starting at 41,100 USD.
bydchang is a public Wechat account “dedicated to servicing BYD car owners and BYD employees, sharing hot news and information”, owned by the Wuhan Qingyu Network Technology Co., Ltd., according to the account’s official description.

The BYD Xia measures 5145/1970/1805 mm, and the wheelbase is 3045 mm. The entire series comes standard BYD’s “God’s Eye” BAS 3.0+ advanced driving assistance system, realized via 31 sensors throughout the vehicle including five millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 14 high-definition cameras.
Power comes from BYD’s fifth-generation DM technology, which also powers the 2025 Denza D9 MPV. The 1.5T engine has a maximum power of 115 kW (154 hp) while the electric motor has a maximum power of 200 kW (268 hp), matched with BYD Blade battery packs with capacities of 20.39 kWh and 36.628 kWh. The pure electric range is 100 km and 180 km, respectively. More detailed powertrain and cruising range specifications still need to be confirmed by the official.
The interior adopts a 2+2+3 three-row 7-seater layout.

The cockpit is equipped with a flat-bottom steering wheel, a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument panel, a 15.6-inch floating central control screen, a 12.3-inch co-pilot entertainment screen, and a 15.6-inch central ceiling screen. The operating system comes from BYD’s DiLink 150 smart cockpit system. Additionally, the center console has two wireless charging panels, two cupholders, and extra storage space below.
The second row is equipped with Nappa leather seats, with an armrest console that can control the seat massage system and pitch angle. At the same time, an onboard refrigerator is located under the front center console that supports both heating and cooling with a temperature range of -6~6℃ for cooling and 35~50℃ for heating.
