CATL-backed Avatr 06 interior revealed in official images with loads of tech

The interior of the Avatr 06 sedan from Changan, CATL, and Huawei was revealed in China with five screens and loads of tech. The Avatr 06 is the brand’s latest model. It will enter the domestic market in Q2 2025 with EV and EREV powertrain variants.

Avatr is a high-end brand owned by Changan and CATL. Huawei doesn’t have shares in this JV. However, the Chinese IT giant acts as a key supplier, providing OS, chips, and electric motors to Avatr cars. The brand’s current model line comprises three vehicles: the Avatr 11 fastback crossover, the Avatr 12 liftback, and the Avatr 07 SUV. Soon, this high-end brand will launch one more model, which is the Avatr 06 sedan.

Previously, CarNewsChina obtained spy shots of the Avatr 06’s interior. Now, the car’s cabin was officially revealed. As we can see in official images, the Avatr 06 adopts the brand’s distinguishing design language. The center console of the sedan integrates a large 35.4-inch screen that works as a large instrument cluster. The car’s main screen sits lower with a diameter of 15.6 inches.

Another highlight of the Avatr 06 is side-view cameras instead of conventional mirrors. While some automakers prefer to place side-view cameras’ screens on the door cards, Avatr positioned them next to that giant 35.4-inch screen. This design feature allows the driver to see areas behind without turning his head left or right. The fifth screen of the Avatr 06 is a digital rear-view mirror.

Similar to other Avatr-branded models, the 06 sedan has an oval-shaped steering wheel with a gear shifter mounted on the steering column. The door cards of the Avatr 06 have push buttons instead of handles. The center tunnel of the car adopts two wireless phone charging pads, a pair of cup holders, and a hidden compartment. There is also an illuminated Avatr inscription in the center tunnel.

One of the interior images of the Avatr 06 sheds some light on its EREV powertrain energy consumption performance. According to information from the car’s center screen, it has an energy consumption of 13.6 kWh/100 km. With 59% of the battery charge, it can still run up to 1,086 km in hybrid mode.

More about Avatr 06

The Avatr 06 is a mid-size sedan with dimensions of 4855/1960/1450 mm with a wheelbase of 2940 mm. Its exterior styling adopts the Avatr 2.0 design language. It has double-layered running lights, headlights integrated into the bumper, hidden door handles, a blackened roof, and a ducktail spoiler.

The electric variant of the Avatr 06 will be available with RWD for 252 kW (338 hp) and 4WD for 440 kW (590 hp). The 72.9 LFP battery pack from CATL powers both these drive train variants, good for a 600–650 km range in CLTC conditions.

The Avatr 06 EREV has a single e-motor in the rear axle for 231 kW (310 hp). Under the hood, the car has a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine for 115 kW (154 hp). This variant has two CATL-made LFP battery options for 31.7 – 45.06 kWh, suitable for 170 – 240 km of electric range.

As mentioned, the Avatr 06 will start sales in China in Q2 2025. CarNewsChina expects this vehicle to start at 250,000 yuan (34,180 USD).
