Chery Fulwin T8 PHEV pre-sale starts at 15,000 USD

On January 1,1 Chery opened its Fulwin T8 plug-in hybrid SUV for pre-sale, with 5-seater and 7-seater layouts, priced between 109,900 – 156,900 yuan (15,000 – 21,400 USD). Up to now, the Fulwin series consisted of the T6, T9, and T10 SUVs.

The Fulwin T8 measures 4730/1860/1747 mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 2710 mm. The curb weight is 1879 kg and 1907 kg for the 5-seater and 7-seater versions, respectively. Additionally, the body is 80% high-strength steel and 20.6% hot-rolled steel.

At first glance, the Fulwin T8 follows the design language of the Chery Fulwin series, featuring an octagonal closed grille decorated with diamond dot matrix elements and the series logo.

The rear is equipped with a roof spoiler, a high-mounted brake light group, and a through-type taillight group embedded with the FULWIN letter logo.

Power comes from a plug-in hybrid system with two engine options: a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine and a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, mated to a DHT. The naturally aspirated engine outputs 75 kW (101 hp) and 125 Nm while the turbocharged engine outputs 115 kW (154 hp) and 220 Nm. The entire series comes standard with a front electric motor that outputs 150 kW (201 hp) and 310 Nm. Five driving modes are supported: HEV, EV, normal, economy, and sports.

The lithium iron phosphate battery pack offers two capacities: 18.46 kWh and 18.66 kWh, with a CLTC pure electric range of 65 km and 130 km. The official fuel consumption is 1.30L/100km, the WLTC comprehensive range is 1200 km, and the real-world-tested comprehensive range is 2078.6 km. Under fast charging, it takes 19 minutes to replenish the battery from 30% to 80%.

Coming to the cockpit, there is a 10.25-inch instrument panel and a 15.6-inch 2.5K high-definition central control touch screen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. The Lion 5.0 smart cockpit system supports the 4G network, voice recognition/control, and mobile phone APP remote control.

There are also 9 airbags throughout the interior, 18 level 2+ advanced driving assistance capabilities, mobile phone wireless charging on the center console, seat heating/ventilation/massage functions on the top trims, ambient lighting, and a 12-speaker Sony audio system.
