Chery’s Exlantix ES EREV sedan started mass production with 1,645 km range

The mass-produced Exlantix ES EREV sedan from Chery rolled off the production line in China. It offers up to 1,645 km of range, a zero-to-hundred acceleration time of 4.9 seconds, and a 2.4C charging technology. The Exlantix ES EREV will enter the Chinese market as the Exeed Sterra ES in Q1 this year. Later, it will enter overseas markets.

Exlantix is a high-end NEV brand under Chery Group. It was launched in 2023. In China, Exlantix cars sell under the Sterra name. It is a new energy vehicle series under the Chery-backed Exeed brand. However, Exlantix models will sell independently in the overseas markets. The brand’s current model line comprises two cars: the ET crossover and the ES sedan.

Exlantix ES EREV mass production

On January 21, the first mass-produced Exlantix ES sedan with a range extender rolled off the production line. It was finished in a unique purple body shade. The spotted car has a LiDAR sensor on the roof, a surround-view camera system, and red brake calipers. In contrast with the all-electric Exlantix ES, the EREV variant has no ISD Butterfly interactive LED panels in the front bumper.

The Exlantix ES EREV sedan measures 4945/1978/1480 mm with a wheelbase of 3000 mm. Thanks to a sleek styling from Pier Luigi Ferrari, the Exlantix ES has a drag coefficient of 0.205 Cd. Lower drag results in better energy efficiency and a quieter ride.

Under the hood, the Exlantix ES has a 1.5-liter turbocharged generator with a power output of 115 kW (154 hp). It doesn’t transfer torque to the wheels. Instead, it sends power to the battery and electric motors. The Exlantix ES’ battery supports 2.4C charging. According to the automaker, it can be charged with 110 kW DC, suitable for 20-80% charging in 17.5 minutes. This sedan is likely to have an LFP pack with a capacity of 41.16 kWh.

There is no information about the Exlantix ES EREV’s powertrain specs. However, this car has a zero-to-hundred acceleration time of 4.9 seconds. It also has a WLTC fuel consumption of 6.2 liters per 100 km. The minimum braking distance is 33.1 meters. The mixed range of the Exlantix ES EREV reaches 1,645 km.

The Exlantix ES EREV will start sales in China in Q1 2025. CarNewsChina expects the price of this sedan to lie in the 170,000 – 240,000 yuan (23,250 – 32,800 USD) range. Exlantix ES EREV will enter overseas markets, following the Exlantix ET crossover.
