Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i sedan launched in China to rival BYD Qin L
The Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i plug-in hybrid sedan officially launched in China with a starting price of 82,800 yuan (11,330 USD). This vehicle has a length of 4782 mm, and the Leishen 2.0 plug-in hybrid powertrain with a 1.5-liter ICE for 82 kW (110 hp) and an electric motor for 160 kW (215 hp). This model aims to compete with the BYD Qin L DM-i sedan.
The Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i started pre-sales in China on January 17 with a price range of 89,800 – 116,800 yuan (12,285 – 15,980 USD). On January 12, the Geely sedan started sales in China with a starting price of 82,800 yuan (11,330 USD). However, it is available for purchase for 79,800 yuan (10,920 USD), thanks to limited discounts.
More about the Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i
The Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i is an update of the original Galaxy L6 sedan launched in September 2023. The refreshed car adopts traditional door handles instead of retractable ones. Dimensions of the new Galaxy L6 EM-i are 4782/1875/1489 mm with a wheelbase of 2752 mm. For clarity, it is 122 mm longer than the Toyota Corolla sedan. However, the Galaxy L6 EM-i is 78 mm shorter than its main rival BYD Qin L DM-i.
The interior of the Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i has a horizontally oriented 14.6-inch screen. The gear shifter of the car sits behind the two-spoke D-shaped steering wheel. As a result, the center tunnel has room for two wireless charging pads, a pair of cup holders, and a rotary gear shifter.
The Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i adopts the Geely’s Leishen 2.0 (NordThor 2.0) powertrain. It comprises a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine for 82 kW (110 hp) paired with an E-DHT gearbox that integrates a 160-kW (214 hp) electric motor. The Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i has two LFP battery options made by SVOLT: 8.5 kWh for 60 km of electric range, and 19.1 kWh for 140 km of EV range. Thanks to the 60-liter fuel tank, the Galaxy L6 EM-i has a mixed range of 1,300 km.
Upper trim levels of the Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i support fast DC charging. It takes this sedan 20 minutes to replenish the battery from 30% to 80%.

The Geely Galaxy L6 EM-i is available for purchase in five trim levels. The first two of them are offered with a smaller 8.5 battery pack. Their price lies in the 82,800 – 92,800 yuan (11,330 – 12,695 USD) range without discounts. With limited discounts applied, their price slides to 79,800 – 89,800 yuan (10,920 – 12,285 USD). Standard configurations include keyless entry, mobile app remote control, six speakers, OTA updates, map navigation, AI voice assistant, and 4G network + in-car WiFi
The next three trim levels of the Galaxy L6 EM-i are equipped with a larger 19.1 battery for 140 km of electric range. Their price range is 95,800 – 109,800 yuan (13,105 – 15,020 USD). Limited discounts help to reduce the price of the Galaxy L6 EM-i to 92,800 – 106,800 yuan (12,695 – 14,610 USD). For comparison, the BYD Qin L DM-i costs 99,800 – 139,800 yuan (13,650 – 19,125 USD).
