Haval is adding another model to its “Dragon” (or “Long” in Chinese) SUV series called Tenglong (腾龙), positioned as a plug-in hybrid SUV, as exposed by the Chinese MIIT. Tenglong might not be the car’s final name as four other names were also shown in the declaration information.

The length, width, and height of the car are 4786/1895/1725 mm, and the wheelbase is 2816 mm. Compared to the dimensions of the Haval Xiaolong Max, the length of the Haval Tenglong has increased by 22 mm, and the wheelbase has increased by 16 mm. The curb weight is 2060 kg.

For the exterior, the front face is equipped with a horizontal light strip with the HAVAL letter logo embedded in the center. The rear is decorated with a through-type taillight group. From the side, the car runs on multi-spoke rims, matched with black window frames. At this time, the interior specifications have not been announced.

Interestingly, four names appeared as the optional rear logo, namely, the Haval Xiaolong Max, Haval Ruilong, Haval H7, and Haval F7. It is worth pointing out that both the Haval H7 and Haval F7 are discontinued models. Just last week, GWM released an official image of its new Haval H7 SUV. Let’s see which name will GWM stick with.

Power comes from GWM’s Hi4 (Hybrid intelligent 4WD) plug-in system, consisting of a 1.5T engine (model GW4B15M) and an electric motor, paired with a lithium iron phosphate battery pack supplied by Honeycomb Energy. The 1.5T engine has a maximum power of 115 kW (154 hp). The battery packs have capacities of 19.09 kWh and 18.75 kWh which correspond to 85 km of pure electric range as well as 27.54 kWh which correspond to 129 km of pure electric range.

In December 2024, Haval sold 83,425 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 27.21%, bringing its annual sales to 706,234 vehicles and cumulative global sales to 9.4612 million vehicles. The best-selling model at present is the Haval Raptor, in which the retail sales volume in December was 13,240 units and 70,500 units in 2024.
