The Lynk & Co 900 plug-in hybrid crossover is the first mass-produced vehicle with the Nvidia Drive Thor chip on board for 1,000 TOPS. This processor is four times more powerful than the widely used Nvidia Orin chip. The Lynk & Co 900 will enter the Chinese market in Q2 this year as the brand’s ultimate flagship.

Lynk & Co was initially a joint brand between Geely and Volvo founded in 2017. This year, Geely’s subsidiary Zeekr Technology became the majority shareholder of Lynk & Co with Volvo being fully distanced from this project. The Lynk & Co model line comprises nine cars. The upcoming 900 crossover will become the tenth vehicle in the lineup. It will also become the first car with the Nvidia Drive Thor chip on board.

Zeekr Technology CEO Andy An said that the Lynk & Co 900 will enter the Chinese market in Q2 this year as the first car with the Nvidia Drive Thor System on a Chip (SoC) on board. It is Nvidia’s latest centralized car computer that combines advanced driver assistance systems and an AI cockpit of a single system. It supports generative AI capabilities and provides a computing power of 1,000 TOPS (Trillion Operations Per Second).

For comparison, the previous generation of Nvidia SoC called Orin offered computing power of 254 TOPS, almost four times less than the newest chip. This metric shows how many basic math problems the processor can solve in a second. Simply put, the Nvidia Thor is four times quicker than its predecessor.

The Lynk & Co 900 adopts the Zeekr self-developed Haohan driving assistance system. Its main feature is the Navigation Zeekr Pilot (NZP) feature, which is an advanced Navigation On Autopilot system. It doesn’t rely on HD maps, which means the so-called “autopilot” can operate in every geographical point of China. On the highway, it can identify congested sections and plan the best route in advance. The NZP can also identify obstacles, and adjust the speed and steering angle.

With Nvidia Thor on board and the Zeekr Haohan ADAS system, the Lynk & Co 900 is an answer to Huawei’s Qiankun driving assistance system.
