Looking back, in 2013, SGMW’s 10 millionth vehicle rolled off the production line; then in 2019, the 20th million vehicle; and now in 2025, the 30 millionth vehicle.
SGMW also pointed out that new energy vehicles (NEVs) have played an important “role” in accelerating this achievement. A total of 10 NEV models were launched last year. The joint venture’s total sales in 2024 were 1.54 million vehicles, with NEV sales exceeding 800,000 vehicles, accounting for more than 50% of the total sales, a year-on-year increase of 63%. As of the end of 2024, SGMW’s cumulative NEV sales exceeded 2.4 million units.

Furthermore, looking outward, SGMW was the main exporter of SAIC to open up overseas markets. The first country that the joint venture exported its vehicles to was Thailand in 1990, exporting the first batch of 15 Z110 mini cars. Now, SGMW exports to nearly 40 countries. Additionally, SGMW was the first Chinese automaker to build a factory in Indonesia. So far, Wuling has launched nine models there, including the Wuling Air EV, Bingo EV, and Cloud EV. At the same time, on December 31, 2024, Wuling became the first Chinese automaker to realize power battery production in Indonesia.
Looking ahead, Zhou Yan, general manager of brand and communication of SGMW, indicated that the joint venture will launch a new architecture platform to carry higher-end models. These new cars are expected to be launched in the first half of 2025. Regarding smart driving, Zhao Yifan, general manager of SGMW’s product marketing center, revealed that all of Zhuoyue’s (formerly known as DJI Automotive) intelligent driving system upgrades, including algorithms and chips, will first be applied to SGMW models, with priority given to Baojun brand models.
