Volkswagen ID.UNYX 06 EV exposed in China, manufactured by Volkswagen Anhui
Recently, the Volkswagen ID.UNYX 06 appeared in the latest Chinese MIIT declaration catalog. The new car may be a modified model of the ID.UNYX, which was a smart electric compact coupe SUV under Volkswagen’s ID.UX series launched in July 2024. For reference, the ID.UNYX sells for 209,900 – 249,900 yuan (28,900 – 34,400 USD) with 614 km and 555 km ranges (CLTC).

ID.UX symbolizes “Make Every Moment Gold”. By 2027, Volkswagen plans to launch five smart pure electric vehicles under the series, manufactured by Volkswagen Anhui, Volkswagen’s third vehicle joint venture in China.
In the third quarter of 2024, the series sold 373 vehicles, including 175 in July, 77 in August, and 121 in September. Then, as of November 2024, the total number of the ID.UNYX registered nationwide in China was 563 units. Right now, the ID.UNYX’s price has been reduced by 40,000 yuan to 169,900 yuan (23,200 USD) as an attempt to revive sales in the price war.

More about the new car. The tail label of the declaration image revealed the name to be ID.UNYX 06. For the exterior, the appearance is consistent with that of the current ID.UNYX in the Chinese market, featuring through-type headlight and taillight, a small ducktail, and the rear red Volkswagen logo. The standard seating is five people.
The size also remains unchanged, with a length, width, and height of 4663/1860/1610 mm, respectively, and the wheelbase is 2766 mm. The curb weight is reduced by 70 kg compared to the current single-electric-motor model on sale to 2091 kg. The approach angle is 17° and the departure angle is 21°.
Power comes from a 170 kW (228 hp) electric motor, paired with a lithium phosphate iron battery pack supplied by the SAIC-Volkswagen joint venture. The battery capacity, range, and other powertrain details have not been revealed at this time. The car runs on 20-inch rims.
