On February 20, Zhao Yongpo, general manager of Great Wall Motors (GWM)\u2019s Haval and Ora brands, released a set of preview images of Haval\u2019s second-generation Xiaolong Max. The new car is expected to be upgraded in terms of appearance, interior, and powertrain. Earlier in January, Zhao released an official image, but at the time, the vehicle was named the new Haval H7.<\/p>\n

For reference, the current Haval Xiaolong Max on sale costs 159,800 \u2013 179,800 yuan (22,000 \u2013 24,800 USD). Last month, only 22 units were sold, making it the worst performing model across the entire Haval series.<\/p>\n

From the images, the front face is equipped with a through-type light group integrated with the \u201cHAVAL\u201d logo at the center. Echoing the front, the through-type taillight group adopts a fork design at both ends and the center \u201cHAVAL\u201d logo can be lit up, making it highly recognizable. At the same time, the vehicle has a floating roof effect and runs on 19-inch rims.<\/p>\n

The second-generation Xiaolong Max is expected to provide two plug-in hybrid system options, namely, 1.5L Hi4 and 1.5T Hi4, developed by GWM. The maximum power of the 1.5L engine is 85 kW (114 hp), paired with a 27.54 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, offering a CLTC pure electric range of 126 km, according to the Chinese MIIT. The maximum power of the 1.5T engine is 115 kW (154 hp). <\/p>\n

The specific electric motor specs and comprehensive range have not been revealed at this time. <\/p>\n

It is worth calling out that GWM have considered a series of names for this model, including Tenglong, H7, F7, and Ruilong. <\/p>\n

Positioned as a medium-sized SUV, the second-generation Xiaolong Max has dimensions of 4780\/1895\/1725 mm, and the wheelbase of 2810 mm.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, like most new Chinese cars these days, the second-generation Xiaolong MAX will support end-to-end assisted driving functions in an urban environment, reportedly power by the DJI Zhuoyu computing platform.<\/p>\n
