Firefly interior exposed with steering column-mounted screen
The Firefly electric hatchback started presales in China for 148,800 yuan (20,400 USD) on Saturday. Nio showcased the exterior and a few other details, but the interior remained undisclosed. CarNewsChina obtained pictures of the interior, so let’s examine them.

Firefly cabin features two LCD screens. The driver’s LCD instrument panel is mounted on top of the steering wheel column, like some supercars’ driver-focused cockpit layouts. This means that when you adjust the wheel, you also adjust the display, which remains fixed relative to the wheel and keeps essential information within the driver’s line of sight.
The second screen for infotainment is in the same place as all Nio cars – above the central tunnel in a horizontal position. It has narrow bezels, and CarNewsChina expects it will have the same size as the rest of the Nio lineup 12.8″.

The square-shaped steering wheel has two wide spokes with two sets of physical round-shaped control buttons. Firefly also features a large sunroof. The interior corresponds to the spy shots CarNewsChina showed earlier.
Firefly will be the second Nio’s vehicle with frunk. The capacity is 92 liters. The trunk has a capacity of 1,250 liters with folded rear seats. Nio didn’t disclose the standard trunk space without folded seats.
The EV’s turning radius is 4.7 meters. Its battery is swappable but incompatible with the existing Nio network of 2,900 swap stations. Other specs have not been revealed yet. The car will launch in April 2025, possibly at the Shanghai Auto Show.

Firefly was designed in Munich as a global EV. It is expected to launch in Europe in May or June, followed by other markets, such as Latin America and Southeast Asia. Nio reiterated its goal of entering 25 markets by 2025.
