New Tesla Model Y arrived in stores in China
New Model Y arrived at Tesla stores in China, according to the pictures of the refreshed SUV shared on Chinese social media. The new EV was previously spotted on car carriers across China, hinting that deliveries are about to start soon.

The new pictures of the refreshed Model Y, codenamed “Juniper,” are the best real-world shots we have obtained. They show Model Y in Flame Red and Glacier Blue in the parking lot in front of the Tesla store. The Glacier Blue version is parked next to the “classic” Model Y, showing the big change in design.
Comparing the rear of two Model Y generations, an aide of the LED light bar, the most notable change is that the license plate moved from the boot lid to the bumper.

The new Tesla Model Y launched on January 10 in China, ahead of Europe and the US. The starting price was about 5% higher than the “classic” version, 263,500 yuan (35,950 USD), and the new SUV reportedly received 50,000 orders in a day.
On the same day, the Chinese regulator revealed Tesla’s core specs as the car applied for a sales license. Tesla submitted info about two trims: RWD and AWD long-range.
The entry-level RWD starts at 263,500 yuan (35,950 USD), which is 13,600 yuan (1900 USD) more than the previous version. It has a 593 km range under CLTC conditions, 39 km more than the previous older version. It is also 10 kg (22 lbs) heavier as its curb weight is 1921 kg.

It has the same 62.5 kWh LFP battery from CATL and 220 kW motor on the rear exel.
The Tesla Model Y became the bestselling car in China in 2024 by selling 480,309 units, up by 5.24% from 456,394 cars in 2023. Model Y represented 73% of Tesla sales in China last year.
