Chery Fulwin T8 takes on plug-in hybrid SUV market starting at 13,800 USD
On February 22, Chery officially added another plug-in hybrid SUV to its Fulwin T series – the Fulwin T8, with a total of 6 trims, priced from 103,900 – 150,900 yuan (14,300 – 20,800 USD). At this time, a limited-time discount price of 99,900 yuan (13,800 USD) is offered.
The Fulwin T8 offers 5-seat and 7-seat layouts, 1.5L and 1.5T plug-in hybrid systems, and two CLTC pure electric ranges of 65 km and 130 km. The 1.5L engine outputs 75 kW (101 hp) and 125 Nm while the fifth-generation ACTECO1.5T engine developed by Chery outputs 115 kW (154 hp)/220 Nm. Both systems come standard with a front electric motor that outputs 150 kW (201 hp) and 310 Nm, mated to a DHT.
The official real-world tested comprehensive range under a full fuel tank and full charge is 2078.6 km while the standard declared CLTC comprehensive range is 1,400 km. Additionally, only the 1.5T trims support fast charging and take 19 minutes to replenish from 30% to 80%, while slow charging from 10% to 100% takes 3 hours.
The Fulwin T8 has a length, width, and height of 4730/1860/1747 mm, respectively, and a wheelbase of 2710 mm. The curb weight is 1879 kg and 1907 kg for the 5-seater and 7-seater, respectively. For the body composition, the proportion of high-strength steel used in the vehicle reaches 80%, of which hot-rolled steel accounts for 20.6%.
There are also 9 airbags in the car and 18 level 2.9 advanced driving assistance functions are supported such as lane departure assist, front collision/rear collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and traffic jam assist.
Inside, the smart cockpit powered by Chery’s Lion 5.0 AI technology presents a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel and a 15.6-inch 2.5K central control screen with a built-in Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, which can start up in just 2 seconds, Chery claimed. Configurations including an AI voice assistant, 256-color atmosphere lights, Bluetooth, 50W mobile phone wireless fast charging, and a 12-speaker Sony audio system (including headrest audio) are not absent.
The second and third-row seats can be folded down to form a bed. The 1930 L trunk space is spacious with a 1930 L volume, along with 32 storage spaces throughout the interior. Furthermore, the front seats support 3-speed heating and ventilation functions while the queen co-pilot seat is equipped with a 10-point massage function and an electric legrest.
