Zhang Zhuo, General Manager of BYD’s Ocean Network Sales Division, shared new interior details of the highly anticipated BYD Seal 08 on social media today. The sedan will be offered in four interior color themes: Cloud Frost Rice, Dawn Rice, Misty Brown, and Night Purple. Blind pre-orders opened on June 12, and the official market launch is slated for July 2.
Design and Exterior
The Seal 08 adopts the “Ocean Aesthetics 2.0” design language. Its front end features a closed-off grille, slim elongated headlights, and a sculpted hood. A roof-mounted LiDAR sensor supports BYD’s God’s Eye B intelligent driving assistance system. Exterior color options include Coral Red, Cloud White, Glaze Silver, Sea Mist Purple, Poseidon Green, and Obsidian Black.
The side profile showcases a sleek fastback silhouette with semi-concealed door handles and large multi-spoke wheels. At the rear, a full-width taillight assembly spans the trunk. Dimensions measure 5,150 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,505 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,030 mm.
Interior and Technology
Inside, the Seal 08 features the Ocean Aesthetics 2.0 flagship cockpit. The minimalist center console houses a large floating infotainment screen and a digital instrument cluster. Other amenities include a three-spoke steering wheel and a front-row wireless smartphone charging pad.
Performance and Powertrain
Built on an 800V high-voltage platform, the Seal 08 integrates BYD’s latest technologies, including the second-generation Blade Battery, flash-charging capabilities, rear-wheel steering, and the DiSus-A suspension system. The vehicle boasts a pure electric range of 900 km, with a flash charging capability that adds 400 km of range in 5 minutes.
