Avatr 06 convertible spotted with 4 doors and no B-pillars
Spy shots of the Avatr 06 convertible have surfaced on Chinese social media, revealing a striking new addition to the Avatr lineup. The photos highlight a sleek convertible based on the Avatr 06 sedan, announced by Avatr only days ago. It features a rare four-door design for a convertible and the absence of B-pillars. This unconventional layout enhances its visual appearance while potentially posing structural challenges, particularly for rear-door rigidity and overall body strength.

The dimensions of the convertible are expected to align with those of the standard Avatr 06 sedan: 4855 mm in length, 1960 mm in width, and a height of 1450–1467 mm. The wheelbase measures 2940 mm. The convertible could incorporate both the fully electric (EV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) powertrain options seen in the sedan, though official details remain unconfirmed.
The EV versions feature single-motor and dual-motor configurations, with the single motor offering 252 kW of power to the rear axle. The dual-motor setup adds a 188 kW motor to the front axle, achieving all-wheel drive and a top speed of 200 km/h. The EREV uses a 231 kW single motor paired with a 1.5T engine generator, reaching a top speed of 190 km/h. Battery options for the EV include an 82.16 kWh pack, while the EREV could use a smaller 39.05 kWh pack, both supplied by CATL.

The Avatr 06 focuses on advanced technology, potentially featuring Huawei‘s Qiankun ADS 3.0 for driver assistance and HarmonyOS for its infotainment system. While Huawei supplies the technology, it does not hold shares in the joint venture.
Production and sales of the Avatr 06 lineup are expected in early 2025, with prices starting below 219,900 yuan ($30,300 USD). Whether the convertible will proceed to mass production remains to be seen.
