Huawei backed Maextro S800 declared as both EV and EREV, the EREV has up to 371 km range
On October 9, we learned that the Maextro S800 will be available as both a range-extended EV and an all-electric EV. Thanks to a government regulator, we now have a lot more information about the car.

The all-electric version has a three motor setup. This uses a 160 kW YS210XYA03 electric motor on the front axle and a 237.5 kW TZ210XYF01 electric motor on each of the rear wheels. Maextro is a collaborative brand between JAC and Huawei, and Huawei supplies all the electric motors.
The EREV uses a 1.5 T engine as a range extender and is equipped with it appears two electric drive motors. The engine has a maximum output of 115 kW but is purely used as a range extender. Power to the actual wheels comes from the electric motors. At the front, there is a 160 kW electric motor, which is presumably the same YS210XYA03 unit as the all-electric version. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) listing information indicates that the power of the rear motor is 230 kW. This leads us to believe that the EREV version only has a two-motor setup. However, given the size of the car, this seems strange.

Both versions of the car use an NCM battery supplied by the Jiangsu Division of CATL. Currently, there is no further information available regarding battery capacity for the EV, but the EREV has a 63.262 kWh pack, which can give an all-electric range of 272-371 km.
As already known, the S800 has a length of 5480 mm, width of 2000 mm, height of 1536 mm, and wheelbase of 3370 mm. The curb weight of the all-electric version is 2731 kg, and interestingly, the EREV version is exactly the same weight.
Given the car’s bulk and presumed prestige, it is rather surprising that both versions ride on 20-inch wheels. Notably, the wheel style is slightly different from the version that was previewed when the car opened its pre-sales. Buyers will have three styles of wheels to choose from. The EREV version is only available with a horizontal bar lower air intake, whereas the EV version has a choice of either this or the style seen when the car was launched for pre-sales.
