Nio Group delivered 13,192 vehicles in February, up 62.2% year over year. The deliveries consisted of 9,143 Nio brand and 4,049 Onvo L60 vehicles.

Nio Group sales were up 62.2% year-over-year and down 4.8% from January. Onvo sales were down 31.5% from 5,912 units in January.

However, a year-over-year comparison with February 2024 doesn’t make much sense, as it doesn’t tell the full story.

It is because the Chinese New Year holiday follows the lunar calendar, meaning its date changes each year. It typically falls between late January and mid-February, depending on the timing of the new moon. This has a heavy effect on January or February sales in China, depending on which month CNY falls.

Thus, the proper way to compare year-over-year sales is to sum January and February and compare it with the same combined two months the year before.

In January and February 2025 Nio Group 27,055 vehicles, up 49% from 18,187 units in Jan+Feb 2024.

When it comes to Nio brand,

Nio doesn’t provide breakdowns for particular models, but according to January insurance registration monitored by China EV DataTracker, the ES6 SUV was responsible for 33% of Nio brand sales, ET5 Touring for 25%, NIo EC6 SUV-coupe for 16%, and ET5, the sedan version of ET5 Touring, for 11%.

The flagship SUV ES8 contributed only about 5% in sales, and the flagship sedan ET7 only 3%. Nio ES7 and EC7 had about 5% together.

Onvo sells only one model, a Model Y rival, L60. The mid-size SUV was launched in September 2024, starting at 206,900 yuan (28,400 USD). Like all Nio Group cars, it supports battery swap and comes with two variants: a 60 kWh LFP pack from BYD, good for a 555 km range or an 85 kWh ternary NMC pack from CABL, good for a 730 km range.

A 5-seater SUV’s dimensions are 4828/1930/1616 mm (length/width/height) and 2,950 mm wheelbase. The 1,885 kg SUV is powered by a single electric motor with a maximum output of 240 kW (322 hp). The dual motor AWD version is also available with an output of 340 kW (456 hp), thanks to the additional 100 kW motor.

Nio brand best seller is ES6 (EL6 in Europe). It starts at 338,000 yuan (46,500 USD), 63% more than the Onvo L60. For this price, it offers a 75 kWh battery pack from CATL, good for a 500 km range.

The dimensions are 4854/1995/1703 mm and wheelbase 2,915 mm. It is AWD, powered by dual motors with a combined power of 360 kW (483 hp). The rear motor is 210 kW, and the front is 150 kW.

Both prices are with purchased battery, not with BaaS subscription.

During the peak travel period surrounding the Chinese New Year holiday, NIO’s nationwide power network consistently delivered comprehensive, efficient and convenient services. From January 22 to February 5, 2025, over 1.7 million battery swaps were completed, with the busiest station serving up to 180 swaps per day. Notably, over 80% of our users’ energy replenishment on highways was accomplished through power swaps. In addition, over 21,000 flexible battery upgrades were provided, further enhancing the long-distance travel experience.
