The updated Tesla Model Y codenamed \u201cJuniper\u201d started deliveries in China on February 26, the American company disclosed<\/a> in official Weibo social media account. Tesla has begun deliveries of the Model Y Launch Edition with a price range of 263,500 \u2013 303,500 yuan (36,350 \u2013 41,875 USD).<\/p>\n

The refreshed Tesla Model Y was officially launched in China on January 10. This EV started volume production in China on February 17. Nine days later, this SUV kicked off deliveries across China. So, it took Tesla 47 days to kick off deliveries.<\/p>\n

Initially, the Tesla Model Y deliveries were set to start in March. However, the Tesla Shanghai Gigafactory managed to start the volume production of the refreshed SUV earlier. So the deliveries start was moved to late February.<\/p>\n

In the last few years, a lot of Tesla Model Y rivals from Chinese automakers entered the market. However, the American automaker underlined its confidence in the refreshed Model Y sales performance. It wrote \u201c\u5c3d\u7ba1\u5bf9\u6bd4\uff0c\u4e00\u8bd5\u4fbf\u77e5\u201d in Weibo social media, which could be translated as \u201cdespite competition, you will know once you try it\u201d.<\/p>\n

As mentioned, Tesla kicked off deliveries of the Model Y Launch Edition. Interestingly, this variant will be on sale until February 28. Buyers of the Model Y Launch Edition will get an additional two-year or 40,000-km extended warranty.<\/p>\n

The new Tesla Model Y adopts the latest front-end design with a thin LED running light unit. Its drag coefficient reaches 0.22 Cd. Lower drag means longer range and quieter ride. Dimensions of the updated Model Y are 4797\/1920\/1624 mm with a wheelbase of 2890 mm.<\/p>\n

Inside, the Tesla Model Y adopts a 15-inch touchscreen. The car also has a turn signal stalk on the steering column. The new Model Y also offers a sunroof with a silver-plated coating and 16 speakers. The SUV\u2019s trunk capacity reaches 2,130 liters with the rear seats folded.<\/p>\n

The Tesla Model Y adopts the 400V architecture. The entry-level model has a single e-motor in the rear axle for 220 kW (295 hp), suitable for a zero-to-hundred acceleration time of 5.9 seconds. The 62.5-kWh CATL-made LFP battery pack powers that electric motor. Its range reaches 593 km under CLTC conditions.<\/p>\n

The Tesla Model Y AWD has a 194-kW (260 hp) electric motor in the rear axle paired with a 137-kW (184 hp) motor in the front. The combined power output of this electric crossover reaches 331 kW (444 hp). This drivetrain is powered by a 78.4 kWh ternary NMC battery from LG. The Model Y AWD can run up to 719 km on a single charge.<\/p>\n
