Wuling Zhiguang EV with 201 km range enters market at 6,590 USD
On February 14, SGMW officially launched its Wuling Zhiguang EV with a price range of 47,800 – 50,800 yuan (6,590 – 7,000 USD), positioned as a “pure electric multi-purpose vehicle”, “suitable for outdoor camping, mobile sales, and short-distance transportation.”
The Wuling Zhiguang EV has a size of 3685/1530/1765 mm and a wheelbase of 2600 mm. The vehicle’s curb weight is 892 kg.
Both the fast and slow charging ports are located under the front Wuling logo. The roof is equipped with a 2070 mm luggage rack. The square tailgate has an area of more than 1㎡ with an opening angle close to 90° and a maximum height of 1823 mm. Furthermore, there are 20 M6 standard threaded mounting holes throughout the vehicle to further expand the storage space, according to the official.
Inside, the cockpit has a 4.2-inch instrument panel combined with a radio at the center of the dashboard and rectangular air-conditioning outlets.
The interior adopts a 4-seater layout, in which the co-pilot and rear seats can be folded flat to expand the trunk volume from 527 L to 1117 L. The entire series is equipped with fabric seats, two speakers, a remote control key, an ISOFIX child seat anchor interface, an anti-lock braking system, and an electronic brakeforce distribution system as the standard configurations.
Power comes from a rear permanent magnet synchronous motor, with a maximum power of 30 kW (40 hp) and a peak torque of 85 Nm, matched with a 17.7 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack. The top speed is 100 km/h and the CLTC pure electric range is 201 km. Under DC fast charging, it takes 35 minutes to replenish from 30% to 80%. Otherwise, it takes 5.5 hours under AC slow charging to replenish from 20% to 100%. An external discharge function of up to 3.3 kW is also supported.
