Xpeng G7 electric SUV offers up to 702 km of range in China
The Xpeng G7 electric crossover will offer up to 702 km of range in China, thanks to a CALB-made 80.8 kWh LFP battery. The Xpeng G7 is the brand’s longest SUV. It will enter the market this year, following successful launches of two sedans: Xpeng P7+ and Xpeng Mona M03.
The Xpeng G7 was officially revealed in official images on January 9 this year. Later, the core specs of this vehicle were exposed by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). Now, the Chinese regulator revealed the battery and range specs of the Xpeng’s upcoming SUV.
Xpeng G7 range information
The entry-level Xpeng G7 adopts an LFP battery pack for 68.5 kWh manufactured by CALB, China’s third-biggest EV battery maker. This battery is quite heavy at 560 kg. It takes around 25% of the car’s curb weight of 2,085 kg. The battery sends power to a 218 kW (292 hp) electric motor. The range of this SUV reaches 602 km (under CLTC conditions) for the model with a curb weight of 2,085 kg, and 577 km for the modification that weighs 2,100 kg.
The long-range variant of the Xpeng G7 adopts an 80.8 kWh LFP pack from CALB. This battery weighs 631 kg. It also powers a 218 kW e-motor. The range of the Xpeng G7 reaches 702 km (for the car with a curb weight of 2,145 kg) and 677 km (2,160 kg).

Previously, Xpeng officials said that the G7 crossover “may be the most capable SUV in the 250,000 yuan (34,460 USD) class this year.” This vehicle boasts dimensions of 4892/1925/1655 mm and a wheelbase of 2890 mm. The Xpeng G7 is the brand’s longest SUV. However, its wheelbase is 108 mm shorter than the Xpeng G9’s. The Xpeng G7 is offered with 18 or 20-inch wheels. The car’s interior aligns with the previously launched Xpeng P7+ sedan.
The Xpeng G7 will follow the brand’s latest successful strategy of launching high-configuration vehicles at a low price. CarNewsChina expects this crossover to start at around 200,000 yuan (27,300 USD). The Xpeng G7 will enter the market in H1 2025.
