BYD’s luxury brand Denza is bringing its tri-motor electric roadster, the Denza Z, to the global stage. The vehicle, which produces a peak output of 1,180 kW (1,582 hp), is scheduled to launch at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK on July 9. According to the automaker, the Denza Z can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 2 seconds and comes equipped with an advanced active suspension system.

Denza used its Weibo social media account to share a promotional poster confirming the global launch event at Goodwood. Brand representatives described the location as “the century-old hall of racing,” noting that the Denza Z will share the spotlight with legendary supercars from around the world.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed takes place at Goodwood House in West Sussex, near the historic 3.8-km Goodwood Circuit, which first opened in 1947. This year’s event runs from July 9 through July 12, 2026.

Earlier, key specifications of the Denza Z emerged during the vehicle’s domestic homologation process in China. The two-door electric car seats four passengers and is offered in both hardtop and convertible configurations. Its dimensions measure 4,780 mm in length, 1,990 mm in width, and 1,350 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,780 mm. Depending on the variant, the curb weight ranges from 2,220 kg to 2,290 kg.

Under the skin, the Denza Z uses three electric motors. A front-mounted TZ220QYD unit delivers 500 kW (670 hp), while two TZ226XYG motors at the rear combine for 680 kW (912 hp). Total system peak power reaches 1,180 kW (1,582 hp). When equipped with a large rear spoiler, the Denza Z can achieve a top speed of 350 km/h.

Details about the battery capacity remain undisclosed. Earlier claims indicated the Denza Z can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2 seconds. The car is also expected to feature DiSus-M magnetorheological (MR) active suspension, flash charging capability, a steer-by-wire chassis, and the DiPilot 5.0 advanced driver-assistance system.

According to China EV DataTracker, Denza delivered 15,620 units domestically in May, representing a 7.3% year-over-year increase. This marks the brand’s first truly successful month in 2026, halting a streak of year-over-year declines.
