Xiaomi is expanding its automotive lineup with a new sub-brand called "Sky Nomad" (Xun Tian in Chinese, meaning "looking for the sky"), joining the existing SU7 sedan and YU7 mid-size SUV. Spy shots from China have confirmed that the first model under this brand will be the N90, a full-size SUV that also serves as Xiaomi's first range-extender electric vehicle (EREV).
The Sky Nomad N90 is designed with an outdoor, glamping-oriented theme. Images show a streamlined, built-in rooftop tent in beige with a black mosquito net, creating a loft-like space on the roof. This aligns with the growing trend among Chinese SUV rivals that offer features like fold-flat rear seats and AC sockets for hot pots and grills.

Potential Specs and Trims
Under the hood, the Sky Nomad N90 will be powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged range extender paired with a 70+ kWh battery pack, delivering an electric-only range of 400-500 km. The combined cruising range is expected to exceed 1,500 km. A dual-motor setup will provide all-wheel drive (AWD) capability.
CarNewsChina previously reported that Xiaomi has diversified its battery sourcing for the Sky Nomad lineup. Sunwoda will supply 60% of the battery packs, while CALB will provide the remaining 40%. This strategy aims to optimize costs and reduce supply chain risks, a shift from relying solely on CATL and BYD's FinDreams for the SU7 and YU7.
Spy shots reveal semi-flush door handles and 19-inch tires on the N90, with higher trims likely offering larger wheels. A roof-mounted LiDAR sensor hints at advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). The N90 is also expected to feature air suspension and rear-wheel steering.

As a full-size SUV, the N90 measures over 5,300 mm in length with a 3,100 mm wheelbase. It is expected to be offered in both 5-seat and 7-seat configurations. Chinese sources estimate pricing between 200,000 and 450,000 yuan ($29,500 - $66,500 USD), with an official reveal scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.
More on Xiaomi & Sky Nomad
The "N90" nameplate positions the SUV as a flagship model in Xiaomi's lineup, following the trend of other Chinese "9-series" new-energy vehicles (NEVs) like SAIC's IM LS9, Denza's N9, and Li Auto's L9.

Xiaomi is performing strongly in China, with China EV DataTracker reporting 32,759 domestic deliveries in May 2026. The company currently offers only two models: the SU7 sedan and the YU7 mid-size SUV. The SU7 alone was China's third best-selling car, with 24,023 units delivered in the same month.
The Sky Nomad N90 will fill the full-size SUV niche in Xiaomi's lineup, but whether it will achieve the same level of success as its siblings remains to be seen.
