Xiaomi is preparing to officially launch its latest SUV, the SkyNomad N90, in late July. After filing with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the company has now revealed the vehicle's interior layout.
A 2+2+3 Layout
While most high-end family-oriented large SUVs currently favor a 2+2+2 six-seat configuration, Xiaomi is introducing the SkyNomad N90 with a 2+2+3 seven-seat arrangement. CEO Lei Jun highlights the practical versatility of this setup, noting it can accommodate a family of three traveling with both sets of grandparents, or a two-child family with grandparents and a nanny. He also points out that the 2+2+3 layout, famously used in vehicles like the Buick GL8, makes the SkyNomad N90 equally suitable for business reception, offering greater utility across diverse scenarios.
“Living Space” Concept
Positioned as an “intelligent variable large-space SUV,” the SkyNomad N90 is built around the “Living Space” cabin philosophy. The vehicle measures 5,285 mm in length, 1,998 mm in width, 1,825 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 3,080 mm. Externally, it features Xiaomi's “Mi”-shaped LED light clusters integrated into the front grille, forming a unified panel with the “SkyNomad” logo. The roof is equipped with LiDAR for advanced intelligent driving capabilities.
Interior
The SkyNomad N90 is available in both 5-seat and 7-seat versions. It features a completely flat floor and ultra-long rails running the length of the cabin. Key interior highlights include front seats that support 180° rotation, second-row zero-gravity comfort seats as standard, and a ceiling-mounted screen that can slide forward and backward. Optional features include a PAD expansion for the third row and a projection kit.
Performance and Range
The SkyNomad N90 is powered by a 1.5T range-extender system. The range extender delivers 112 kW of maximum power, while the drive motors provide peak outputs of 210 kW (282 hp) and 100 kW (134 hp). The vehicle reaches a top speed of 190 km/h and is equipped with a 76 kWh battery, offering a WLTC pure electric range of 363–370 km.

The Xiaomi SkyNomad N90 is not the first SUV to feature a 2+2+3 layout. BYD launched the Great Tang (or Da Tang) as China's first SUV with this configuration not long ago. However, Lei Jun clearly prefers to compare the SkyNomad to the Buick GL8 MPV—where such seating is common—rather than mentioning the BYD Great Tang, a strong rival in the new energy vehicle segment.
