BYD Fang Cheng Bao Ti9 Flagship SUV Teased in China, Global Launch as BYD Ti9 Expected

BYD's Fang Cheng Bao brand has teased the Ti9, a full-size flagship SUV aimed at large families, with a 5.3-meter length and 3.1-meter wheelbase. The model, which follows the success of the Ti7 crossover, is expected to debut soon in China and later internationally as the BYD Ti9. It features a LiDAR sensor, power side steps, and semi-hidden door handles, with PHEV and BEV powertrain options likely shared with the Ti7.

BYD's Fang Cheng Bao (FCB) brand has released an official teaser for its upcoming Ti9 full-size SUV in China, signaling that the model is nearing its market debut. The automaker stated that the Ti9 "won't be long to come," as the flagship measures 5.3 meters in length and is designed to cater to large families, aiming to replicate the success of the smaller Ti7 crossover.

Initially positioned as an off-road brand to rival GWM's Tank, FCB's lineup began with plug-in hybrid body-on-frame SUVs like the Bao 5 and Bao 8. However, the brand has since expanded into other segments to boost sales. Its current bestseller, the Ti7 monocoque crossover, delivered 94,417 units in H1 2026, according to China EV DataTacker, making it one of BYD's top-selling models.

In June 2026, the Ti9 was spotted during road tests in China, appearing as the flagship of the Ti-series. The model features a 3.1-meter wheelbase, a short front overhang, large wheels, semi-hidden door handles, power side steps, and a LiDAR sensor mounted on the roof. By early July, interior photos revealed a large screen and LCD instrument cluster, with the gear shifter positioned behind a four-spoke D-shaped steering wheel. A cheaper trim with a smaller screen was also seen, featuring a center tunnel with cup holders, a hidden compartment, and physical controls.

On August 3, FCB shared an official teaser showing the Ti9's profile, highlighting pronounced fenders, a slightly sloped roofline, a large roof spoiler, and slanted A-pillars. The teaser also reiterated that the model "won't be long to come." There is speculation that the Ti9 could debut alongside the FCB Formula S sedan and Formula S GT station wagon, which were recently listed by the Chinese MIIT with ranges up to 900 km.

While official specs for the Ti9 are not yet available, it is likely to share powertrain options with the smaller Ti7, which is offered as both a PHEV and BEV. The Ti7 PHEV's all-wheel-drive variant combines a 1.5-liter ICE with two e-motors for 360 kW (483 hp), while the Ti7 BEV with dual-motor AWD delivers 515 kW (691 hp).

Notably, Fang Cheng Bao is a China-exclusive brand, but its models are sold overseas under different names. For instance, the FCB Bao 5 and Bao 8 are marketed as Denza B5 and B8, respectively, while the FCB Ti7 is sold globally as the BYD Ti7. Consequently, CarNewsChina expects the FCB Ti9 to reach international markets as the BYD Ti9 following its domestic launch.
