Dongfeng's Voyah brand has confirmed that pre-sales for its latest all-electric mid-to-large SUV, the Voyah Passion S, will begin on July 24. First showcased in May, this model aims to take on rivals such as the Xiaomi YU7. It comes equipped with intelligent driving capabilities driven by four LiDAR sensors and the Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 system.
Design
The Voyah Passion S features a sporty, low-slung fastback design. Its aerodynamic shape is enhanced by 10 integrated air ducts, 18 air vents, and dual active grille shutters. The SUV rides on 21-inch wheels with performance callipers and includes a carbon fibre rear spoiler. Dimensions are 5,050 mm in length, 1,998 mm in width, and 1,656 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm.
Interior
The cabin offers three colour choices: Light Cloud Beige, Dawn Orange, and Moon Shadow Black. The dashboard features a three-spoke steering wheel and a seamless dual-screen setup that connects the central infotainment display with the passenger screen. With the new "Voyah Engine" sound experience, drivers can press the paddle shifters on the steering wheel to trigger a simulated supercar engine roar, while the instrument cluster and AR-HUD switch to "Supercar Mode."
Intelligence
The vehicle's intelligence system is based on an 896-line LiDAR and the Huawei Qiankun ADS 5. The sensing array includes 32 hardware components: four LiDARs, three forward-facing distributed 4D millimetre-wave radars, two rear millimetre-wave radars, 11 high-definition cameras, and 12 parking radars. Additionally, three dToF (direct Time-of-Flight) blind-spot LiDARs are placed on the sides and rear, enabling detection of objects as close as 15 cm to the vehicle body and providing early warnings for rear-approaching hazards.
Performance and range
Based on previous filing information, the Voyah Passion S RWD features a drive motor (model TZ220QY002) with a peak power of 300 kW (402 hp). The AWD version adds a 175 kW (235 hp) front motor, resulting in a combined system output of 475 kW (637 hp). Two battery pack options are available: 81.6 kWh and 98.1 kWh, offering pure electric ranges of 630 km and 700 km, respectively.
